Portfolio site for a Lagos-born, DMV-based music producer
The official site for Michael Blayze, a music producer born and raised in Lagos and now based in the DMV area. He works in ambient trap, wavy Afrobeats and the sounds coming out of Nigeria's underground scene, and the site is where artists and labels go to hear the work and reach him. It runs across five pages. Home introduces the sound and the work. About carries his story and how he approaches a record — starting with the artist rather than the beat, and building a signature sound instead of chasing trends. Music holds the catalogue and a player. Videos collects the visual work in a filterable gallery. Contact is the route for production, beats, features and artist development enquiries. The design is photo-led and editorial, built around the artist's own photography, with links out to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram and Linktree throughout.
Video gallery with category filtering and a responsive grid
Deliberate empty states that route visitors to Spotify, Apple Music and Linktree when a section has no content yet
Scroll-reveal choreography, masked line transitions and an infinite marquee built on Motion
Hand-built UI primitives — tabs, accordion, modal, inputs, buttons — with no component library dependency
Editorial, section-per-page layouts rather than a repeated template
Responsive across breakpoints with a mono/display type system
